Brian J. McIntyre launches HR technology firm WorkStrategy to address mid-market organizations and application vendors
April 9, 2003 Columbia, MD Brian J. McIntyre, founder of HR implementation services consultancy, Working Concepts, acquired by Towers Perrin in 2001, is leaving to start a mid-market focused Human Resources technology services firm. The new organization, WorkStrategy Inc., will provide both strategic planning and application implementation services tailored for mid-sized organizations.
Headquartered in Columbia, MD, WorkStrategy will build its mid-market business model around emerging Human Resource Management software vendors, best practice implementation services, and process improvement techniques. The company will be placing special emphasis on employee and manager self-service, workforce productivity, and third party integration support. WorkStrategy methodologies are designed to maximize the customer's investment in technology and quickly identify opportunities for process improvement and staff development. Services are planned for traditional business vertical markets, the public sector, and non-profit organizations.
WorkStrategy will be managed by a team of seasoned HR technology executives: Jay Fox, Vice President, Business Development; Melinda Broome, Chief Marketing Officer; Sujata Patel, Vice President, Finance; and Nichol Mason, Vice President, Human Resources. An advisory board of industry thought leaders is also being formed to assist WorkStrategy with its "go to market" strategy and development of best practice services.
Brian McIntyre will assume president and CEO responsibilities immediately focusing his attention on creating alliances with niche application providers and mid-market focused HRM vendors in North America.
Tom Peltier, Managing Director, Legg Mason comments, "We assisted Brian with his company's [Working Concepts] acquisition in 2001 and believe in his vision of how the HR technology marketplace will evolve. His unique approach to building and growing HR technology firms has enabled him to attract and retain highly skilled consultants that focus on customer satisfaction." Adds Peltier, "We believe that Brian has accurately identified an untapped market for HR technology services. His ability to leverage his past experience with Working Concepts and existing relationships with HR software vendors will enable him to create new HR service delivery models and quickly penetrate the mid-market space."
Brian McIntyre, Founder and CEO, WorkStrategy, states, "While mid-sized organizations are smaller than many of the Fortune 1000 companies, and are operating under leaner budgets, the level of sophistication in their HR programs, administrative processes, and HRIT infrastructure is just as complex. We believe successful HRM software vendors eyeing the mid-market must deliver comprehensive functionality in a cost-effective package, requiring minimal staff for ongoing maintenance. WorkStrategy's business objectives are designed on this service delivery model."
