Awards Scholarships to Collingswood High School Students

$20,000 presented to four graduating seniors

Collingswood, New Jersey May 27, 2006 — Brian McIntyre, Founder and CEO of WorkStrategy, awarded four scholarships totaling $20,000 at the Collingswood High School Academic Awards Banquet on May 26.  A former student and resident of Collingswood, New Jersey, Brian started the scholarship program in 2000 and contributed over $160,000 in funds to date.  The program was renamed last year to the George F. and Joan D. McIntyre Scholarship Fund in honor of his parents, both of whom had been intimately involved with local charities and educational programs.

The 2006 award recipients were: Melissa Benedetti, Grace Cruz, Keicha Garcia Muriel, and Rachel Ploucher. Winners were chosen based on academic proficiency, extra-curricular activities, and desire to major in the field of science or technology.

“Each one of the award recipients has earned their scholarship and our respect,” said Mr. McIntyre.  “Collingswood High School continues to offer an excellent curriculum and prepare its students for higher education.  As business executives, we can support the graduates by contributing towards the cost of college tuition and living expenses.”  He added, “Through this program, we are encouraging the students to challenge themselves – both in classrooms and in the community.”

“Brian’s long-term commitment and generous contributions to Collingswood High School has enabled graduating seniors to pursue their academic endeavors as well as to build opportunities for local economic growth” stated Charles Earling, Collingswood High School Principal. “On behalf of the faculty, students, and their families, we would like to thank Brian for his support and dedication.”

Mr. McIntyre, resident of Ellicott City, Maryland has started a number of successful businesses and non-profit organizations including WorkStrategy – an HR technology firm located in Columbia, MD, Working Concepts – HR Consulting company sold in 2002, Project VisionShare – a non-profit organization created to help Maryland-based entrepreneurs and business owners, and the George F. and Joan D. McIntyre Entrepreneurial Center at Howard Community College in Columbia, MD.
